Setting Up Musicommand

 

Musicommand is a web-based application that requires some web browser plug-in software. To make sure your web browser is working properly, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Browser Plug-in Software and Compatibility Check

1. JAVA – Click here to link to the Java JRE for Windows7/Vista/XP/2000/2003/2008. Click "Download JRE" button to download JRE installation file. If you already have Java JRE installed, by clicking on the Java download link will verify the version of the Java software currently installed on your PC. Learn more about JAVA.

2. Adobe Flash Player – Click here to download Flash Player for Windows. If you already have Adobe Flash Player installed, the clicking on the download link will display a current version number of the Player currently installed on your PC. Flash Player is required for Musicommand online games.

Step 2: Musicommand Audio Driver

1. Musicommand audio driver is needed for your PC microphone to communicate with Musicommand. Click download here to download and install driver.
2. If prompted, click Yes, Grand, Trust or Save File to accept the download.
   
   

   

3. Proceed to install the Musicommand driver by running the setup program. Click "Next" and "Next" again to start installation if you agree to the Musicommand Software License Terms.
   
   

   

4. If you have previously installed Musicommand, select "Repair Musicommand" then click on "Finish" to reinstall the driver.
   
   

   

Step 3: Test Your Microphone

• Now you should have the browser plug-in software and audio driver installed properly. Before we move on, let's test your computer microphone to make sure it is working properly. For best quality, we recommend unidirectional microphone.
• Now, talk to your microphone, or make sound by playing your instrument. You should see the purple bar moving as you play. The solid bar indicates the volume of the sound picked up by your microphone. For best sound quality, keep the sound input between 50% - 75% of the bar.

Step 4: Let's Play!

• You are ready to play. Login to Musicommand with your student ID and password, then go to the lesson page to start the exercise.
• If prompted with Java security window, click Run to continue.
