How Musicommand Works
It’s simple. Using an external microphone, you play a piece of music through one of the video games. As you play the piano, the game software “listens” and at the same time lets you “see” if you are playing the music correctly. The notes played become part of the game, such as driving a car in an auto race, or playing a baseball game. The game analyzes the notes played against the original music score and reports back to the student what was played correctly, or what notes were played incorrectly or in the wrong rhythm. In addition, the program captures every lesson practiced for the student and teacher to review.
Students enjoy the positive reinforcement provided by the instant feedback, but they also become quickly engaged in what is necessary to "beat the game," or move to the next level. Practice becomes, literally, playtime.
Musicommand doesn’t require any custom or proprietary equipment. An external microphone and a computer meeting minimum processing and graphics requirements are all you need to get started learning to play an instrument.
Getting started with Musicommand is simple and will only take a few minutes. But before you register, make sure your computer and instrument meet the minimum technical requirements.
